What to expect on the water.
A quick rundown so you can show up ready to fish.
What to Bring
A Florida freshwater fishing license, sunscreen, drinks, snacks, weather-appropriate clothing, and a hat. Everything else — rods, reels, tackle, and bait — is provided.
The Boat & Group Size
Trips run on a Skeeter FXR 21 with GPS, a live bait well, and life jackets. Comfortable for up to 3 anglers — just let us know your group size when booking.
Where We Fish
Primarily the St. Johns River out of Palatka, plus Rodman Reservoir, Orange Lake, the Harris Chain of Lakes, and Lake Santa Fe depending on the season and bite.
FAQs.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes — each angler needs a valid Florida freshwater fishing license. They're quick to get online through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and we're happy to point you to the right link.
What's included in the price?
Your guide, the boat, fuel, rods, reels, tackle, and bait (live shiners or artificial, depending on the package). You just bring sunscreen, drinks, snacks, and your license.
How long are the trips?
We offer both 8-hour full-day and 4-hour half-day trips. Full days give the most flexibility to chase the bite across different water.
What will we catch?
Largemouth bass are the main target, with crappie (speck) and the occasional redfish in the mix depending on the season and where we fish.
What's the deposit and cancellation policy?
A deposit reserves your date and is non-refundable. However, it can be transferred to another available date at the guide's discretion — we'll always do our best to work with you on weather and scheduling.
Are beginners and kids welcome?
Absolutely. Trips are tailored to your experience level, and Capt. Shawn enjoys getting first-timers and young anglers into fish.
